1. What this covers
This Privacy Policy explains what information RheoVentures ("we", "us", "our") collects when you use rheoventures.com and the RheoVentures journal app, why we collect it, and the choices you have. RheoVentures operates under UK data protection law (UK GDPR).
2. Information we collect

3. How we use it
We use your information to provide the journal itself (storing and displaying the trades you log), authenticate you, process your subscription, and keep the Service secure and working. We don't sell your data, and we don't use your trade data for anything beyond providing the Service to you.
4. Who we share it with
We use a small number of service providers ("processors") to run RheoVentures:
- Supabase — hosts our database and handles authentication. Your account and trade data are stored there.
- Stripe — processes subscription payments. We never see or store your full card details.
- Netlify — hosts the website and app.
Live currency conversion rates are fetched from a public exchange-rate API (Frankfurter) directly by your browser. No personal or trade data is sent as part of that request — only the currency codes involved.
If you generate a read-only share link, anyone with that link can view the trade data included on it. You control if and when you create one.
5. Cookies and local storage
We use your browser's local storage (not tracking cookies) to keep you signed in and remember lightweight preferences like your chosen display currency and cached exchange rates.
On our marketing website (rheoventures.com) we use Google Analytics to understand how visitors find and use the site — for example, which pages are viewed and roughly how many people visit. Google Analytics only runs if you accept the cookie banner; if you decline, no analytics cookies are set. You can withdraw consent at any time by clearing your browser's local storage for this site and declining again when the banner reappears. We don't use any third-party advertising trackers. 6. Data retention
We keep your account and trade data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we'll delete your personal data and trade history within a reasonable period, except where we're required to retain limited records (e.g. billing history) for legal or accounting purposes.
7. Your rights
Under UK GDPR, you have the right to access, correct, export, or delete your personal data, and to object to or restrict certain processing. To exercise any of these rights, contact us at rheoventures@outlook.com and we'll respond within a reasonable timeframe.
8. Security
We rely on our infrastructure providers' security practices (encryption in transit, access-controlled databases) to protect your data. No system is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable steps to safeguard your information.
9. Children
RheoVentures is not directed at, and should not be used by, anyone under 18.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we'll update the "Effective" date above and, where practical, notify you directly.
